Includes bibliographical references. 'As Ontario embarks on a renewed vision of success for all learners, the province will build on a solid foundation. A decade ago, only 54 per cent of children in grades 3 and 6 met provincial standards in literacy and numeracy. That number has grown significantly, and today 71 per cent of grade 3 and 6 students are achieving our high provincial standards. In addition, only 68 per cent of students were graduating from high school a decade ago. Now, 83 per cent of students are graduating.
