Closing the Gender Wage Gap : A Consultation Paper for Businesses and Organizations.

'The Steering Committee will consult with diverse groups across the province to: Examine how the gender wage gap affects women: at work, in their family, and in their community. Examine how the gender wage gap impacts different women in the workforce, across the economic spectrum. Examine ways in which government, business, labour, other organizations, and individual leaders can work together to address the conditions and the systemic barriers that contribute to the wage gap.

'This report focuses on the following areas: there are insufficient options for child care and elder care, resulting in women doing more unpaid caregiving and having less time for paid work; the sectors and jobs where women and men work are differently valued, with work done by women being undervalued; and, there is gender bias and discrimination (intentional or unintentional) in business practices that can prevent women from achieving their full economic potential.
